The spymaster being a prisoner in the TARDIS rather than a vault or a cell, yet unchained by the mercy shown from 12 to Missy. The TARDIS, unwilling to forgive him from the torture he put her through when he cannibalised her into a paradox machine, the Doctor willing to turn a blind eye. The ship trapping him in endless hallways, books producing sparks of electricity when he tries to pull them from the shelf, placing him out of the Doctors sync so his words fall on deaf ears. Confining him to his quarters when it's time for him to rest, every cupboard only containing the food she will let him eat. Teasing him with the illusion of freedom, leading him to the console room and showing him an open front door, humming in vengeful laughter as he sprints for freedom and she ends up sending him back where he started. A TARDIS that does not forgive, and a Doctor that does not intervene. The ultimate prison for a Timelord.

mission: gmag | kim minji
summary: coworkers fall in love, very oddly...
pairing: barista!minji x barista!reader
themes: HUMOR, coworkers to lovers, slow-burn, fluff...like tooth-rotting sweetness, rest of newjeans!, major loser reader
wc: 5.4k
"no, listen to me, it's M I N," sakura is so over this, honestly. but you promised to buy her a new controller for her switch if she helped you, so she goes through with it.
"m...i...n..." sakura types slowly as she scrolls with a glass of water in one hand.
"ji," you continue quickly.
"what was that?" she asks and looks up at you.
"j...i. j for james and i for like iphone, i dont know." sakura nods and returns back to typing.
"okay okay, minji.....minji...kim minji....i found her!" sakura flips her phone to show you the girl's instagram page.
you squint at sakura's shaky hands.
"stop, stop. I can't see with your hands shaking all over." sakura frowns at you and tries pulling her phone away. but you're quick to grab it out of your hands. feeling like you've hit the jackpot.
"yes! it's her!"
sakura rolls her eyes and grabs more chips from the coffee table, popping them into her mouth as you happily scroll through your coworker's public instagram page.
"you know you could just talk to her right? like at work...where you both work together in that cramped barista station."
"kkura, you really aren't helping." you mumble as you hit one of the posts of minji at the beach; she's smiling and showing off her cute brown dog. you had overheard minji talking with another worker about her family's brown mini poodle. "that must be choco."
"what i also don't understand is why you're looking her up, on MY phone. when you have a perfectly working phone." sakura continues to eat through the family size bag of lays.
you scoff and pull the blanket off of sakura's legs. "what if one day she asks me to exchange socials and she sees that i've searched her up already? i can't let that happen."
you roll your eyes like it's the most obvious reason.
"wow, i thought i was a loser, but this really takes the cake." she shakes at the bag for more lays and returns her attention to the show thats been playing in the background.
you pay sakura no mind as you now have found yourself happily going through her page. examining each post closely and even going through her tagged photos for more information.
"okay, stop, this is just creepy. you're like a cyber-stalker." sakura yanks her phone out of your hand and pushes your chest away to knock you off your balance. you topple over like a bowling pin. "don't forget you have to buy me new controllers for this!"
sakura leaves with her phone in hand, probably off to phone her friends, leaving you all alone in the apartment with whatever show's been playing.
"what a cockblock." you mutter out as you finish up the lays bag and crumple it, getting ready to go to bed. you let out a long yawn that turns into a groan until the air has left your lungs. now you're coughing like a mad man trying to drink water, you finally cool down.
--
"welcome to milk mocha!" minji shouts from behind the counters, you successfully arrive just shy of 15 minutes late for your shift.
"oh, you're here." minji comments when she looks up from behind the espresso machine and glances at you. you grimace at the dismissive tone, but all minji can see is your hair all over the place and shirt worn inside out and backwards.
needless to say, you pressed snooze a few times too many, and now you're paying the consequences.
"i am so so so sorry minji, i slept past my alarm." you beg for forgiveness and start spewing about how you tripped over your charging cable, accidentally burned your tongue during breakfast, wore wet socks. and minji's heard enough already.
"okay, lets just...get you set up. you're lucky it's slow right now." she ushered you into the staff room and your heart warms at how considerate she is. even feeling a little lovesick that she hasn't written you up for tardiness.
"you're the best minji!" you shout over your shoulder as you change into the work shirt and tie an apron around your waist. horrified to find the tag of your t-shirt facing the world.
you try brushing your hair as best as you can, then tucking into your work cap. you walk out onto the floor and see a few customers around. no one seems to be ordering and you thank the coffee gods for this opportunity.
"soooo minji...." you start, as you wipe down the counters.
"yes?" she's busy cleaning the machines in the meantime and checking that there's enough supplies in the mini fridge.
you turn to her and smile widely, "are you single?"
she stops what she's doing and turns to you. "yes, why do you ask?" in the most monotone voice you've ever heard.
you wonder if minji was a robot in her past life.
"oh, no reason, just curious, hehe." you mumble to yourself and minji looks at you confused but then a customer walks in.
"welcome to milk mocha! how can i help you?" you begin and take the guy's order.
minji's walked away to get ready for the lunch rush, but mostly to think about your question.
--
"hanni, listen to me, the girl's weird." minji says over facetime. hanni's laying on her back scrolling through instagram and nodding along to whatever minji's ranting about.
"mhm, mhm." hanni finds a cute cat video and sends it to haerin.
"she asked me today if i was single."
"mhm."
"and like, why would you ever ask your coworker that? i think that's weird, like she's crossing work boundaries you know?"
"mhm."
"bro! are you even listening?" minji starts tapping at the screen, taking hanni's attention away from the many cat videos.
"yes bro! something about being single?" hanni only spares her some attention before returning back to her cat videos.
"yes! she asked me if i was single!"
hanni looks back into the small rectangular box that minji is in, "okay, i dont see a problem."
haerin sends over a funny gif of fluffy dogs tripping. hanni laughs while minji continues to rant about her new coworker.
then a random notification pops up.
[hairein]: "HI ITS HYEIN HI HI HI"
hyein must have taken haerin's phone and has begun spamming through all the group chats that haerin has. hanni decides that's enough scrolling for a day.
hanni closes her instagram to focus on the conversation, also muting haerin's account for good measure.
"i don't think it's weird that she asked if you're single. if you find someone weird, then of course you're going to think everything they do is weird." hanni continues as she sits up and pulls her self to her desk.
minji goes quiet, thinking about her own views on her new coworker. she's between reasoning that it's okay that she thinks you're weird, but she also feels bad because maybe you two just got off on the wrong foot.
she's never considered giving you a real chance to prove yourself. when you walked in two weeks ago for your first shift with a huge staff in hand (you were going to a convention later cosplaying as maki from jjk) minji already knew to stay away from you.
it doesn't help that the other people at work also thought you were weird. later that shift, your manager reprimanded you for showing up to work with a weapon; you profusely apologized and tried to show that it was just a foam staff. all the other workers already looked at you weirdly though, so maybe minji just followed along.
"well now i feel bad." minji concludes as hanni watches her through the screen.
"good! be more open-minded next time." hanni concludes and hangs up on minji immediately. minji on the other end drops her jaw and curses hanni through the phone.
--
"order for jay!" you shout from the counter, wiping down the americano. minji's shift just started but you're already elbow deep in your shift. it seems that friday's are always busy at miilk mocha. everyone is scrambling to get these orders out as quick as possible.
you look more tired for today's shift, constantly rubbing at your eyes and yawning when no one's looking. kazuha seems concerned that you're so tired.
"hey, you okay?" kazuha asks when you sit down for a quick break. you nod.
"yeah stayed up playing genshin, you know how things go." you explain and continue rubbing at your eyes. hitting a little too hard that it makes you see stars when you blink.
"you need to stop playing till 4am, you know you have a shift at 7." kazuha explains to you, she's already working on the next order. you take a breather and sip on the coffee you made for yourself.
"it's not my fault that game is so addicting." you explain and stretch your body, getting ready to take on the rest of the orders. minji finally fixes her apron and walks out to see you and kazuha chatting it up.
minji tries inserting herself into the conversation, hoping to see a new side of you that isn't so...peculiar.
"what's genshin?"
"minji! you don't know what genshin is?" you exclaim and begin going on a long rant about the game and it's gacha mechanics. you even begin explaining the pulls you have gotten. by the end of it, minji is even more confused and intrigued by you, also worried about your financial responsibility (lack of) because you really just dropped 300 bucks for in-game content.
--
"how are things with the new girl?" hanni's eating her sandwich and minji can't help but feel down.
minji scratches her neck as she thinks about you, "she's good...explained to me the lore of genshin, and then i found out that the staff that she brought to work on her first day was actually for a cosplay outfit, and not just a weapon she carries around."
hanni nods and grabs minji's drink, taking a sip out of it, "so, she's not that weird, just probably made a poor impression."
"yes, you were right." minji sighs and digs into her sandwich, feeling guilty about making presumptions about you.
"hey, cheer up! it's okay, i had a horrible impression of you when i first met you." hanni drinks the rest of juice and lets out a satisfied "ah." until she realizes it wasn't her drink to begin with.
minji just glares at her, "you better pay me back for that."
"see this is why i didn't like you at first." hanni complains but fishes out a five dollar bill and slaps it into minji's hand.
--
"order for macy." you grab the hot chocolate and place it on the counter. a cute little girl with pigtails walks up to the counter and grabs the hot chocolate, standing on her tippy toes. you look over the counter and aw at the cute kid.
"hi macy, want to see my latte art?" you offer, macy nods enthusiastically, you grin before grabbing the frothing cup and doing a nice rosetta for the girl.
she smiles in awe and you laugh, handing her a free cookie for staying, "don't tell anyone i gave you this, okay?" you offer your pinky finger to the small girl. she pinky swears and tucks the cookie into her jacket pocket before leaving with her hot chocolate in hand.
minji's watching the whole interaction and despite being shift manager and wanting to reprimand you for giving out free sweets to customers without asking firsthand, she doesn't have the heart to ruin the sweet act you just did.
in fact, when you find her staring at you, you let out a sheepish laugh and try to move past the fact you gave away a free cookie.
--
"minji! do you want a burger, or hot dog?" you ask, you've officially dedicated yourself the grill master at the company barbecue. the other employees are busy chatting each other up, but you're manning the grill with a coke zero in hand, and expertly making everyone's orders.
"burger, please." minji walks away from her conversation to watch over you, surprisingly you're good at manning the grill, despite still finding way to trip over nothing during work.
this side is actually quite charming, even if you have those ridiculous frog sunglasses over your eyes.
"how are you doing?" minji asks, she peers over the grill and finds rows and rows of burger patties and hot dogs on the other side. you're expertly checking each burger for doneness and rolling hot dogs to ensure even cooking.
"doing great! all patties and hot dogs are coming out delicious and hot hot hot!" you explain. you turn to her and all she can see are those goofy frog glasses on your face. you give her a smirk before turning back to the grill. "first burger that's done is yours to take, by the way."
minji blushes at the sentiment. "you really don't have to do that. everyone should eat first."
"no can do minji, got to make sure you're well fed." you explain and continue flipping burgers while drinking your coke zero. minji finds it adorable how focused you are at this job, even if no one is expecting stellar quality burgers/hot dogs.
"watch out minji!" your head turns faster and you see a football flying your way, definitely going to hit minji on the head, so you block her from the football, having it land straight into your forehead.
"oof." you land backwards and fall to the grass, now rubbing your forehead from the hit. the other coworkers are running up and checking on you, meanwhile all you can do is ask, "you alright minji? it didn't hit you right?"
she blushes wildly at the question and whispers a quiet "i'm good." while you are being pulled off the ground and everyone asks how you're doing. you make jokes, playing it off, saying you were born with a head harder than bricks. everyone laughs and returns back to what they were doing.
"okay, back to the grill." you brush off the dirt all over your apron, and start humming a song while plating finished burgers, handing the first one to minji. "for you!" you tell minji and she gives a thank you before walking away to eat it.
the rest of the barbecue, minji seems to stick by your side throughout the day. this doesn't go unnoticed by kazuha who saw the whole ordeal. her eyes squinting as she sips on her drink.
--
"zuha zuha! i'm tired!" you exclaim, you're working the earliest shift, you were opener and on food prep for the shift. it's near the middle of your shift when you decide to take your break. both kazuha and minji are busy tending to the coffee shop. you sit on a step stool behind the counter to eat a cold croissant from one of the failed batches.
"go walk around or something, you need to get your blood pumping." she explains and goes into depth about the stretches that would promote blood flow and restore energy to your body. you aren't interested in hearing actual solutions, just wanting to vent.
"no! you can't tell me what to do!" you grumble and stuff more of the croissant in your face, even picking out the ham slice to eat separately. minji finds this all a bit weird, as in weird in her stomach kind of weird. the same kind of weird she feels when someone takes the last bag of chips in the convenience store when she goes up to buy it.
she watches how kazuha is so easily able to grab you by the arm, a boundary that she would never cross. and kazuha is pushing you into the backrooms, while you make kissy faces at kazuha, all of which are being dodgeds left and right. "you love me zuha, just admit it!" you shout before the door is closed on you.
kazuha walks back out to the barista station and smiling at minji before continuing to work, "she's something else." minji just nods and tries to will away that nasty feeling in her gut.
"you know she's my cousin right?" kazuha continues, minji stops what she's doing.
"no, i didn't. wow that makes a lot of sense actually." minji explains, kazuha just laughs at her shocked face.
"yeah, just thought you should know." kazuha winks at minji before returning to her espresso machine. minji is confused by the wink, but it's too late to ask; kazuha is already busy in work mode. the feeling in her stomach quells a bit.
--
"what are you looking for?" minji jumps at the sudden voice behind her. you're peering over her shoulder as she holds the walk-in door open.
"you scared me!" minji exclaims and hits you on the shoulder, leading you to pout and rub at your shoulders.
"sorry, bad habit of mine." you explain, "so, what are you looking for?"
minji's still looking around for food that she can eat. she had the great idea of waking up an hour later today, only to find out that hanni already ate her work lunch with a measly 'sorry! i'll pay you back :)) ~hanni' scribbled over a sticky note taped to the fridge door. minji groaned and sped off to get to work on time, completely forgoing a lunch.
"hopefully lunch, hanni ate my lunch."
"you have a bunny named hanni?" you question, trying to look for food in the walk-in.
"no, i have a roommate named hanni, she always steals my food, claims it tastes better than her own food." minji sighs and looked at different rows for hopefully another lone croissant or even a cookie. "is there really no food in here?"
"probably not, since shipment's tomorrow and we've had a busy week." you explain but then you pull your phone out, making a quick call.
"yes one order of a club sandwich, with chips and a cookie please...thank you!" you speak into the phone, minji's confused but you smile at her when she looks at you confused. "okay thank you, can I pick it up now?" and then you hang up the phone.
"what was that?" minji questions but you've already darted out of the walk-in, and minji's hot on your trail watching you run out of the store and make a quick beeline to the deli store around the corner, with your work cap and work apron on. minji laughs at your antics, but her heart warms at the sentiment.
minji returns back into the coffee shop. she might as well wait for you to return so she opens her phone.
[minmin]: new girl bought me lunch
[hanbunny]: you're kidding. even i wouldn't do that.
[minmin]: of course you wouldn't you ate my work lunch!
[minmin]: literally this is all your fault >:(
[hanbunny]: hey, new girl literally is buying you lunch, i think im being a great wingwoman actually, my genius should never be doubted :>
[minmin]: shut up.
[minmin]: also pay me back.
you return breathing heavy but with a brown takeout bag in front of minji's face. minji puts her phone away as she grabs the bag, surprised to see all the things you ordered in the bag. "you really didn't have to do this, how much was it?"
"free 99, don't pay me back minji. it's a thank you for all times you've covered for me when i was late to work." you stretch your legs and sit down next to minji, watching her enjoy the food that you bought.
"want some?" minji splits half her sandwich.
"sure!" you happily grab at the half presented to you and chew happily; minji just laughs at the sight. you remind her of a dog in the way you're so energetic and food driven.
"well if you won't let me pay you back, can i cook you dinner?" minji takes a leap of faith and turns to you, your mouth drops open and you nod intensely, almost choking on the sandwich but finally swallowing the bite.
"yes! i would be honored to try your cooking." you offer as you bite into the sandwich again.
minji smiles at that, "it's a date then."
--
"no, kkura, listen. she said 'it's a date then', but like i don't actually think it's one." you explain while sakura's playing resident evil. her focus being taken up by this new development but also the anxiety from how scary the game is.
"okay, so it's a date." she echos back, moving her head away from the screen.
"but i don't think it is. you know how some people just say it's a date, but it turns out it's just a friend date?" you explain and groan into sakura's plushies.
"no, not really." sakura continues, jumping when a random NPC shows up on the screen's peripheral.
"i just don't want to make it seem like i read it wrong." you explain, toying with the feet of the duck plushie. "what if i the overread it and bring roses to a friend date, you know? then she would think i'm weird and not want to be friends with me. which is fine! but i really would like this to be a date."
"listen kid, just ask her directly if it's a friend date or more. it's easy." sakura explains plainly, frankly you've been going through this back and forth for the past fifteen minutes and sakura's had enough.
you freak out, taking a sharp intake, "absolutely not! that would ruin the mood, then i would look like i'm making her look like an idiot, and minji is not an idiot." you explain.
"i gave you the best advice i got, if you're not going to take it then leave."
"kkura pleaseeee, i need a better way to figure this out."
"nope, not hearing it, good luck!" sakura tunes you out, putting her headphones back on and locking in.
you walk out with sakura's duck plushie still in your hands, if she won't give you good advice then you're taking her belongings.
--
you give yourself some words of encouragement as you knock on her apartment door. behind this door was the living space of your crush and you were sweating, rocking on your feet back and forth in anticipation.
"hello! you're minji's coworker right?" the door opens quickly, and a shorter girl stands before you; she is definitely not minji.
"yes, and you're hanni?" you question to which she nods, excitedly welcoming you into their home. it's what you would expect of minji's living space, very light cream and brown colors all over the living space.
"hanni! i told you to let me answer the door!" minji rushes out of her room, with a cute top on and her hair done in cute braids framing her face, you think she looks gorgeous.
"well minji, it's rude to keep a guest waiting." hanni laughs and smiles at minji weirdly, giving her a quick wink and a pat on her shoulders before disappearing into her room, "it was nice to meet you!"
"you too!" you shout as hanni closes her door.
minji feathers through her hair, and directs you to take off your jacket. you're looking around and you spot minji's work clogs by the shoe rack, and laugh at the sight.
"sorry about hanni, she's usually not so enthusiastic." minji's leading you over to the kitchen where you can see her dinner being cooked. you smile at the delicious smells invading your nose.
"not at all, she seems very nice." you reply back and settle into one of the bar stools.
minji stands awkwardly, confused on how this date should go. "would you like anything to drink? we have water, juice, coke zero, wine-"
"coke zero." you decide, and minji laughs remembering your obsession with that specific drink, no other kind of coke.
"okay, coke zero it is." she hands you the drink to which you happily start drinking, even letting out a large burp, "excuse me."
minji just laughs and finishes stirring the pasta and plating them on the table, it's your favorite, carbonara. you thank the pasta gods for this delicious meal and start to dig in.
minji really hopes the pasta she made tastes good, "how is it?"
"so delicious, better than any pasta i've had before!" you are definitely enjoying the meal as you are finished with the plate before minji can even eat half of hers.
"can i have seconds?"
minji laughs, "of course."
you give yourself another bowl of pasta, happily chatting about interests, you find out that minji's a bit of a audiophile, enjoying all kinds music. she's speaking about her passions but you keep eyeing the stray hair on her cheek. so you reach out and pick it off if minji's face causing her to blush and glow red.
"thank you." she's back to the more reserved minji that you see whenever she's embarrassed. her hands are closed over each other.
"thank you for dinner by the way, you really didn't have to cook me dinner." you say in between bites. you appreciate the girl's kindness; you just can't tell if this is really a date. "i brought flowers by the way!" you go back to your bag and pull out pink carnations.
minji blushes at the gesture, finding it cute that you even thought to bring flowers. she grabs a vase and starts filling it to place the flowers that you have brought, she can't seem to contain her happiness. smiling wildly and then she feels her phone vibrate in her pocket.
[hanbunny]: hey
[hanbunny]: did you two kiss yet?
[hanbunny]: danielle's here too btw
[hanbunny]: hi minji! danielle here! i think your outfit is so cute <3333
[hanbunny]: anyways, hanni here, make a move by the end of the date, if you don't i don't have to pay you back for the lunch i stole
[hanbunny]: love you, good luck!
minji knew the two girls were up to something suspicious, hanni kept demanding that danielle come over earlier in the afternoon. she did not expect the two to be spying on her and your date. minji mutes hanni's conversation, turning to you.
"want to watch a movie?" minji asks as she walks over to the couch. you decide on the lego movie, claiming that it's been your favorite for years, and minji doesn't have the heart to tell you she finds it embarrassing to watch.
you both are enjoying it; well, mostly you are enjoying the movie, and minji's enjoying you enjoying the movie. you tend to recite the lines quietly when you know a long dialogue is coming up, or you clap when you find a scene enjoyable.
minji finds herself relaxing into the date, you seem preoccupied enough with the movie that she goes up to make some popcorn for herself. as she waits for the popcorn, she spots hanni's door cracked open. spotting two sets of eyes watching minji.
minji turns back towards the tv, happy that you haven't discovered the two. "i'm going to the bathroom." minji shouts. you give her a thumbs up and an okay, minji turns to hanni's room.
both girls are eyes wide seeing minji stalk towards them, trying to shut the door but minji's too strong, barging into the room, with hanni tumbling backwards into danielle. both of them sprawled out on hanni's carpet.
"you two have been spying us this whole time?" minji whisper shouts at them. quickly shutting the door behind her.
"i'm sorry!" danielle squeaked out while hanni glared at minji.
"you have nothing to be sorry about dani, minji here just doesn't understand that we are emotional support for her first date!" hanni explains, getting up to sit on her bed.
minji groans and looks around, seeing a giant corkboard filled with poorly shot photos of you and her at work, red string pinned criss crossing all over the board, as if this were a murder case.
"hanni, what is this?" minji nearly shouts, she's horrified to see photos of herself eyeing you or the other way around. hanni simply smiles at her work.
"this is my board for mission: GMAG." she explains proudly, "stands for mission: get minji a girlfriend."
"you have got to be kidding me." minji looks all over the board, trying not to be upset at hanni. she understands the girl is just looking out for her, but this is all a bit much.
"this wasn't my idea!" danielle explains, minji knows that danielle would never do something like this. so she glares at hanni instead, the girl just smirks and points at the board instead.
"whatever, just don't make a peep, i need to get back to this date." minji explains and closes the door behind her, leaving the two alone.
"sorry that took so long." minji walks into the living room, seeing you happily invested in the movie. you smile at her, and pat the seat next to you, inviting her to join you.
"no worries, movie's good!" you explain. even though minji might not completely love the lego movie, she is enjoying being around you and spending time with you. also find it cute that you dropped a blanket over her as she got comfortable.
you recognize the final portion of the movie, "this is my favorite part, minji." you explain to her how cool the collaboration of lego fans and the production cast were. giving her insight on the movie that she definitely did not know. she ends up kissing you through your avid explanation, with your hands all over the place.
you thank the heavens she made the first move because you were worried this was a friend date. minji turns shy at the action, a little shocked by her own boldness. she shifts away from you and avoids your eye contact.
"minji, you just kissed me." you say, a little slow on the pick up. your brain is trying to catch up to what just happened. minji just nods, seemingly invested in the ending credits.
"did you mean to?" you ask, pushing her shoulder a bit.
"yes." she says and you can see her ears getting all red from the embarrassment.
"oh thank god, because i wasn't sure if this was a friend date or romantic date, i mean obviously i wanted it to be a romantic date, but i really wasn't sure if it was. i asked my roommate for help, but she was no help. she told me to ask you if this was a more than a friendly date, and i was like nuh uh no way i am going to ask minji that." you trail on and on, a nervous habit you picked up whenever you didn't know what to say next.
minji kisses you a second time. and you stop talking. "it's definitely more than a friend kind of date." she reaffirms your suspicions and you let out a little laugh. you pull her into a hug, before grabbing her face and giving her a kiss as well.
"i want to kiss you more often." you say.
"yeah?"
"yeah." you conclude proudly.
hanni and danielle are still in hanni's room with their ears against the gap of the door. and then you hear a loud squeal followed by a loud crash. you turn to minji and she immediately groans.
"hanni!" minji shouts. it's silent for a couple seconds until you hear a timid muffled voice. and out comes two girls from hanni's room. you're shocked because you completely forgot about hanni, and to now learn that there was another girl too makes you even more confused.
"hi minji, hello minji's lover." hanni smirks at you, while you hide yourself behind minji.
"hanni stop." minji groans out.
"what? mission: gmag is a success from what i can see." hanni gives you a wink, you feel oddly exposed by the action. meanwhile, hanni's friend is just smiling and nodding at you. you feel a little less worried with her.
as minji and her two friends head back into hanni's room to assess the aftermath caused by the troublemakers. you sit back, scratching your head and munching on popcorn. puzzled by hanni's interest in you.
minji returns with a smile, and casually suggests, "another movie?"
"lego movie part 2?" you ask with a grin.

Hello lovelies!
I just wanted to say thank you.
On April 8th (114 days ago) I posted my first drarry ficlet on Tumblr and I’ve been continuously overwhelmed (in the best way) by the response to my ficlets. In that time over 750 people have started following my writing and I have had nothing but kind words spoken to me.
I’ve been so humbled by everyone’s support, by all of the nice comments, the tags on things that are getting reblogged, the outpouring of love in my ask box, and everything else. It’s made my heart happy and it’s been so encouraging to me during some difficult times. I’m so grateful to all of you. ❤️
I’m tagging a handful of people who are always showing up in my notifications and who have been encouraging me since the beginning. I’m sure that I’ll forget people, please forgive me if I’ve left your name off the list and know that I am so appreciative of each and every one of you.
All my love, C

For the character thing, please do Rose Tyler
Ooo thats fun. I was not expecting a doctor who character. Ok. Lets go.
Why I like them: part of it is just because she was my first companion. I fell in love with Doctor Who through her. But also, theres something to be said for a perfectly normal, ordinary person with flaws and who probably doesnt think much of themselves, who is young and naive and loving, who ends up doing extraordinary things without some preternatural destiny guiding them. The only other companion who really hit on that was Bill. Donna had a bit, but there were elements of s4 that implied that it was all some sort of prophecy coming together. The DoctorDonna and all that. Rose really was so ordinary. Even Bad Wolf was born of something so ordinary, so human, this intense love and desire to protect. Rose was, in so many ways, such a perfect first companion, because from the beginning shes such an every girl. And she has so much compassion for so many. Everytime she interacts with people, especially people who work for other people, she treats them like people and like equals. Theres the mechanic in "the end of the world," gwenyth, etc. I just... Ugh. I love her. Bills still my fave, but rose is a VERY close second.
Why I don't like them: her selfishness. I dont know if its really that I dont like her because of it, because I like that she has a real, human flaw, and its a real reason that people might dislike them. It means shes well written, and feels real and human. But it still bugs me. Especially in s1, but even in parts of s2. She treats Mickey and her mother with this dissmissiveness, which is very immature. Like she thinks they only exist when shes around. She gets called on it though, and pretty early on. She never fixes it fully, especially where Jackie is concerned, but she makes an effort. But you can especially see it in school reunion, with her jealousy of sarah jane. She has a problem with the people she loves fully having lives outside of her, especially when those lives seem like a threat to the one shes creating.
Favorite Episode: the Parting of ways, fear her, turn left, or stolen earth/journeys end. Aka, im a simple girl with simple pleasures, and those pleasures are rose being a badass/saving the day. Special mention for the idiot lantern bc i must have watched it 20 times and they give me LIFE the doctor and rose in that episode.
Favorite season: 2. Shes starting to get more confident and sure of herself, but shes still human and flawed.
Favorite Line: whatever the hell she says during the christmas invasion, when shes trying to get the sycorax to leave. Its utter bull, makes zero sense, and its beautiful.
OTP: Doctor/Rose. Any doctor. Im a little desperate to see rose/thirteen. Also Rose/doctor/river. If ianto didnt exist, id say rose/jack/doctor, but alas, he does.
Favorite outfit: oh god. Either the one in the unquiet dead, the idiot lantern, the long game, or the doctor dances. There are so many more though. Her costuming was brilliant.
BroTP: rose and jack.
Headcanon: you mean besides time lord/immortal Rose? Ok here it goes.
So when Rose dropped out of high school for Jimmy Stone, she ran away. Went off on tour with Stone and his band. While on tour, she got.very close to the other band members, including the lead singer/lyricist, a very cute 20 yr old Welshman going through his rebellious phase named Ianto Jones, who helped her figure out she needed to go home and, in the process realized he needed to stop rebelling and start acting like a mature adult, leading to him eventually signing on with Torchwood. Meanwhile, Rose is stranded all the way in Paris because she won't stay on that tour bus with Jimmy, and she's terrified to call her mum, who had told her she'd never forgive her if she ran off and wasted her life on Jimmy. Penniless and desperate, walking alone in the rain, Rose thinks she's never going to make it back to London when she almost gets run over by a car after forgetting to watch where she's going and wandering into the street. The driver swerves and just barely miss her, and after pulling over, a man hops out of the car and starts admonishing her, when Rose bursts into tears. Feeling badly, the man insists on taking her home. She tells him home is in London, too far away for her to accept, but the man refuses to listen, telling her he was heading to London anyway, and here, why don't you borrow my cell phone and call your mum, I'm sure she wants you home. He's right of course, and Jackie cries from relief at hearing from her and is thrilled she's coming home. The man's name was Rory, she learned on the drive, and he was married to a wonderful woman who he loved named Amy, and they lived in Leeds but he was travelling around from work and he was heading from Paris to London because of it. It took six hours to gt back to London, and once they got there, her mum treated Rory to breakfast and he went on his way and rose never saw him again.
Yes, it was that Rory. He was with Amy and the Doctor and he got stranded in Paris in the early 2000's and he wasn't heading into London at all but he felt very bad about almost hitting the poor girl with his car and he recognized her from an old picture he found while he was wandering the Tardis and he brought it to the doctor to ask him about it and the Doctor got very sad and very quiet and walked very quickly away from the conversation and Rory figured that meant that he used to travel with her and there was a sad story in there somewhere and he was curious about the girl and how she'd inspire that kind of emotion from a man he'd rarely seen care about anything real.
Should I make this a fanfiction? I kind of want to make this an actual fic... Anyway.
Unpopular opinion: ...She is a very much not straight woman. I don't know if that's unpopular, but it isn't popular. Or at least, it isn't talked about.
A wish: That she comes back in S13 and we see a reunion. I am but a simple girl with simple pleasures and I have been WAITING WITH BATED BREATH FOR A ROSE COMEBACK FOR YEARS AND I AM O V E R D U E.
An OMG-Please-Don't-Ever-Happen: For a character that is no longer in the show there isn't much I can say. I'd be very disappointed if they brought Rose back and ruined it but that requires them to bring her back first.
5 words that best describe them: Kind, good, jealous, badass, loving
My nickname for them: I don't really have one
Give me more characters! I love this!

Like. Dh!master x fem reader super smutty and lay on the cheese!!! Ive been quarantined and i wanna kneelllll. (If this dont cross any boundaries lol. I literally just saw this)
Hey! Thanks for the ask. So this is literally the first time ever I write smut so forgive me if it’s not perfect. Also, english isn’t my first language so I apologize for mistakes of any nature.
I gotta say tho, I’m pretty satisfied of how it turned out. Hope you enjoy! ;)
Warnings: smut
The door of the TARDIS slammed shut and the Master rested his back against it. You raised your head from the book you were reading and your gaze met a nothing less than disheveled Master. His wide eyes, his jacket burned at the edge and his chest heaving up and down was proof that his latest plan hadn't gone as expected.
-I take it they didn't accept the peace offer? -
The Master sent you a not so friendly glance as he pushed himself off the door. He passed a nervous hand through his hair and started pushing bottons on the TARDIS counter.
-Everything is under controll- he said, his expression focused on the screen. -It's just gonna take some time-
You put the book down and studied his face. His forehead was covered in sweat and his teeth were nervously nibbling at his bottom lip. He looked hot and incredibly stressed.
-Is there something I can do? -
He hadn't exactly told you...well...anything about his plan, you hardly knew where you were.
-Raxacoricofallapatorius-
-Try saying that quickly five times-
The Master had looked at you with an annoyed expression.
-It's the planet we're going to next- he had said moving towards the console. -At least, I'm going-
-What do you mean you're going? What about me! - you had pouted.
The Master had smiled at your childish expression. -Love, this is important, I can't risk you ruining it-
-Now this is just rude-
The master hadn't given any sign of having heard your comment as he quickly pushed bottons and levers.
-And what is so important that you'd rather do it alone? -
-The Blathereen have something I'd like to own-
-Something? -
The Master had turned toward you with a slight smile, clear sign that you would know nothing more. You had huffed and rolled your eyes.
-Fine, don't tell me. I have plenty of things to do here anyway-
-I bet you do darling- he had said with a smirk.
And that was it. You weren't able to find out anything else and frankly, you didn't care. The master had a huge collection of alien artefacts in many rooms of the TARDIS. Sometimes he'd tell you stories about them, where he got them, how he got them. Most of the time it was through clever and violent means. His stories never ceased to amaze you. Maybe that "something" was just another one of those pieces to collect. In that case, he would tell you about how he got it either way.
-Damn it! - you heard him shout as he punched the consol. You were used to his outbursts, but you worried nonetheless. You got up from your seat and walked toward him.
He ran his hands through his hair once again.
-Are you okay? -
-Yes, yes fine- he replied coldly. -But I need to sort this out-
The Master walked out of the room and left you alone. He needed his time, you understood that. You just wished you could help, somehow. Not to mention, you were incredibly bored. You had spent the whole day just wandering around the TARDIS, in search of something to do. The Master had been gone for what felt like ages and now that he was finally here he was still busy with his latest adventure which you didn't know anything about. You picked up your book from the chair and looked at the cover. You could have just kept reading, you knew bothering the Master when he was in one of his moods was a really bad idea.
Then why were you walking confindently toward his study? Oh well.
As you arrived in front of the half closed door, you could hear the Master cursing under his breath. You knocked, getting his attention. The room was dark, if not for a single candle on the desk where he sat. He glanced at you over his shoulder and the orange light of the fire exposed his tired features.
-I'm busy- he muttered before turning his back at you once more.
You weren't discouraged by that. You reached his desk covered in papers with strange drawings and words in a language you didn't understand.
-I know- you said, your hands behind your back. -I just thought you maybe needed some company-
-You thought wrong-
He really wasn't going to make it easy for you, was he?
-I was just thinking...- you could practically feel him rolling his eyes.
-Y/N- he warned.
-Come on, Master. It's been a long day, you've been away a while- as you talked you put your hands on his shoulders, feeling how tense they were. -Why don't you just relax a bit, mh?-
-I don't expect you to understand such a delicate matter- he said arrogantly but he made no effort to push you away as your hands massaged his back and shoulders.
-Oh I don't pretend to understand- you said with a velvet voice. -I just want to make you feel better. If you'll let me-
The Master closed his eyes as you purred sweet words into his ear.
-You're distracting me- he said weakly.
-Mh you don't seem to mind- you said pushing your hands under his jacket and leaving a kiss below his ear. You could swear you felt him shudder.
-Let yourself go- you whispered leaving a few more kisses on his neck. The Master tilted his head to the side to give you better access and you smirked. -You know you want to-
At that, the Master opened his eyes and before you noticed, he had gotten up and flipped you around so your back was hitting the desk's edge. His angry lips were on yours, cutting your breath short but you didn't mind. Your hands flew to his hair, gripping it tightly.
-You want me to let go? - he asked as his hands held your waist possessively. You nodded, looking into his deep, dark, lustfull eyes.
-You asked for it- he said, his voice hoarse. He took a step back.
-Kneel for me love-
His hair was messy, his dark curls falling on his forehead, his lips red and parted as he tried to steady his breath.
You didn't need to be asked twice. Your knees hit the floor sofly and you looked up at him with dilated pupils.
-Now, will you be a darling? - he asked with a smirk.
Your hands reached to unzip his trousers and free his hard cock. He drew in a deep breath as you stroked it steadily before slowly wrapping your lips around it.
The Master closed his head and pushed his head back. It was such a sight to witness. You swirled your tongue around his tip and sucked hard, drowing a loud moan from him. He gripped a fistfull of your hair and tugged as you picked up a pace, bobbing your head to take as much of him as you could. His length hit the back of your throat and you moaned. The vibrations sent him a wave of pleasure and he gripped your hair tighter.
-Such a good girl- he praised and you closed your eyes. You could feel him getting closer and closer as his hips started to move frantically. You could feel your throat starting to burn up but you couldn't care less. The noises the Master was making were enough to make you forget the pain. You put your hand at the base of his cock to finally push him over the age and he groaned.
-Stop stop stop- he said urgently and you looked up at him with a raised eyebrow.
-Get up-
You quickly obliged and got to your feet. He caressed your cheek and you leaned into his touch. His finger traced your bottom lip, whiping some of his cum off it. You promptly put it into your mouth to lick it clean and the master parted his lips. His breath coming hot and heavy against your face, you held eye contact as he replaced his finger with his toung, pushing it deep into your mouth in a heated kiss.
-Bedroom- you muttered between kisses.
-No- he breathed without letting go of you. -I wanna fuck you right here, right now-
You moaned against his mouth and he pulled you up to sit on the desk. With a quick move of his hand he pushed everything off it and his precious papers ended up on the floor. You glanced briefly at them with a pleased smile before the Master pushed you gently on the desk. You looked up at him savouring the look of lust and adoration he directed you. He pushed your arms up to take your shirt off, suddenly gentle and careful. You helped him undress you, taking your bra off before unbottoning his shirt and pushing it off his shoulders. As soon as you were both naked he kissed you hard, your tongues dancing together. Soon, his lips left yours to leave a trail of kisses along your neck and down, on your stomach. You threw your head back feeling his mouth on your clit, hot waves of pleasure washing over you, making you blush.
-Master...god yes- you moaned and he moved his toung quicker, pushing a finger inside you. You gasped and gripped his hair with one hand and the edge of the desk with the other. You couldn't be sure you'd last long, considering the pace at which the Master was using his toung. As soon as he added another finger you felt like you could explode. -Oh god, go faster- you pleaded. The Master took his toung off you and smirked.
-Look at me- he asked as he curled his fingers inside you. You pushed your head further back.
-Y/N, look at me- this time it was an order. You did as you were told and met his big, beautiful eyes. His face got closer to your just a few inches away from kissing your needy lips.
-Do you want to come? -
What. A. Bastard.
You bit your bottom lip, not wanting to give in so easily.
-Oh you're being difficult. I see- he said. At that, he added another finger. You almost screamed in pleasure. -Answer- he whispered in your ear. His pace was getting slower by the second, making you groan in frustration. -Answer. Me-
-Yes! - you shouted. -Yes, I want to come-
-Ask nicely-
-You're such a...ah! -
He had placed his thumb on your clit, circling it gently.
-I did say you were asking for it- he replied smugly.
You finally fave in.
-Please- you begged. -Please, Master-
The Master drew in a deep breath and closed his eyes.
-It wasn't so hard, was it? - he said kissing your neck. Soon, his fingers had left your entrance and you moaned in disappointment but you were soon filled by his erection.
The sound he made when he entered you was your favourite sound. Maybe second only to the sound he made when he came.
He started with a moderate pace, growing more rapid by the minute. You clinged to him, keeping him close to your body as he kissed your breasts. You weren't going to last long and neither was he, you could tell.
-Say my name- he whispered against the skin of your neck.
-Master- you said.
-Again- his thrusts were becoming sloppier and his groans more desperate.
-Master- you said a little louder.
-One more time love-
You got closer to his ear, your hot lips touching it. -Master- you whispered. And that was it.
He came inside you with a loud groan, thrusting forward as he finished. The feeling of being filled by his hot cum was enough to push you over the edge and you came right after him.
You stayed like that for a while, you stroking his hair and him resting his forehead on your shoulder.
-Feelling better? - you asked aftere a few seconds of silence.
-Mh yes- he said leaving one last kiss on your neck before getting up. -Now get out. I need to work-
You rolled your eyes at him but got up and got your clothes back on.
At least you had helped him relax. You needed to interrupt his work more often.

Bedtime
I'm going to start off by saying uh the very base of this character came from here so please read it it's a really good story and I uhh aged 13 accidentally stole this boy so
But he's very different than the other version in this au so hopefully you can forgive me
Also there’s a part (you’ll know it) thats based on that audio with the baby McElroy (i dont know things about them sorry)
And the song referenced is a real song: Soldier, Poet, King by The Oh Hellos
It was quiet at night. Not that night was a solid force in the time vortex. But it was quiet nonetheless. The Doctor sat in the console room with his leg in an unexplainable position up on his chair, reading a book. Only at this time could he get any good reading in without any of his human friends going out on adventures, or more pressingly, making sure that Alexander was safe and well taken care of. It was exhausting taking care of a child, even with the amount of help he had between Donna and even Alex’s father.
He was distracted from his book though, by the sound of pitter pattering feet down the hall, past the console room. He didn’t stop reading though or even look up. If anyone needed anything they were more than welcome to come see him.
The footsteps came closer and closer. They were definitely Alex’s footsteps: too small and light footed to be anyone else’s. He still didn’t look up. Not for any reason, mostly because Alex had any choice in the situation and he didn’t have to interact with the Doctor if he didn’t want to. Sometimes they’d just sit together in silence enjoying each other’s company.
But instead tonight Alex pulled on his pant leg, on the leg that was oddly still perched on top of the arm of the chair. He shut the book, with a bit of a dramatic flair. He moved his leg back down to a more realistic position and perched his head in his hands, “What’s up Alexander?”
Alex’s face scrunched up in thought, clearly he’d come into the console room only to forget what his objective was somewhere between his room and there. Something must have clicked though because his face relaxed and he made his way over to the console. He was a bit too short to reach a majority of the controls and clearly didn’t know how to pilot the ship, “I wanna go.”
The Doctor laughed, “Go? Absolutely not; it’s past your bedtime.”
Alex scowled, a look he had most definitely picked up from his father. It was a bit too cute on him though with his little fists balled up and his arms over his chest. Maybe in 30 years it would look intimidating, maybe. He stopped his foot, “No. I wanna go.”
The Doctor sighed, he wasn’t getting out of a fight that easily. There was no part of him that wanted to just pick him up and drag him back to his room, honestly because he was getting bigger and he didn’t want to haul an uncooperative dead weight across the TARDIS. “Okay, let’s say I was taking you somewhere, which I’m not, where would we go?”
Alex looked up at him, still unimpressed, kids were in the business of getting what they wanted as soon as they wanted. “Home.”
Oh. Well that was an easy one, maybe he was missing his mother. The Doctor could spare a trip to Earth, maybe he’d settle back down to sleep there. “Okay. You want to see your mum?”
That, was evidently the wrong thing to say. Alex’s face went back to a scowl, and his arms back over his chest. “No. Home.”
The Doctor stared down at him confused. The TARDIS and Earth were the only two homes he had ever known. He knew for certain that his father hadn’t been taking him on any secret adventures, the TARDIS didn’t allow him to operate her except in dire circumstances. (This had nothing to do with anything the Doctor had asked for, she was just one to hold a grudge.) “What do you mean? Where do you want to go?”
He rolled his eyes and the Doctor felt himself flash forward to his teenage years and how little he was looking forward to that; he was already too much like his father in some ways. “Not my home. Your home. Yours and daddy’s.”
Oh. He wanted to go to Gallifrey.
The problem there was that there was no Gallifrey to go to. At least as far as he was aware. Ali hadn’t mentioned her or any of the others at the Collection finding any trace remnants of their planet. As far as any of them it was gone. Dead. He moved to the floor and crouched down to be eye level with Alex, “We can’t go there. It’s gone.” He definitely wasn’t one to shy away from talking about the horrors he’d seen, but he was one to shy away from traumatizing children he helped take care of, so he’d keep it vague.
But of course that wasn’t a good enough answer for the little one. “How come? Why’d they get rid of it?”
Kids' minds were unique compared to any others. To think that they simply removed a planet with billions of inhabitants for a singular reason made sense to Alex. The Doctor took a deep breath, “Well there were other aliens that didn’t like them very much and they had a war. A very big war and the only way for them to keep other people safe was to lose.”
Alex made his thinking face again, “Why didn't they like Gallifrey?”
It was honestly hard to make a convincing argument as to why anyone would actually like Gallifrey and therefore would be easier to list its benefits rather than its pitfalls, but Alex wouldn’t take that as an answer. “Well, a lot of people didn’t like the Time Lords. But these aliens in particular didn’t like it that the Time Lords kept trying to stop them from taking over everywhere in the universe.”
He really was only alternating between being a very childish version of angry and deep thought in his facial expressions that night. They were all a bit over dramatic and comical. There was a lot of emotion stored in such a little body. “I’m gonna punched it.”
“What?” He was confused, deeply confused. He hadn’t even said who the other combatants were. Or perhaps he intended on punching the Time Lords which the Doctor could only see as fair, they were kind of bastards. But assuming he was talking about the ones who fought the Time Lords, there was no way in hell he was letting this child punch a Dalek. “You want-- you want to punch them?”
“Yeah.”
“How ‘bout instead I take you to your room and I tell you about Gallifrey instead?” There was only one way to win an argument with a child, especially a nonsensical one: distraction.
He nodded and threw his arms up ready to be carried. The Doctor didn’t love this outcome but it was better than explaining to a little kid the intricacies of the Time War.
Alex’s room was never too far from the console room. Just in case. Just in case he needed something quickly, as the Doctor spent most of his time there. But just far enough away that if something managed to get into the TARDIS (which really was impossible) that he wouldn’t immediately be in harm’s way. He was also only ever a few doors away from his father, but again far enough away. Just in case.
Honestly the Doctor was happy, excited even with how much Alex’s father was improving himself after spawning a child. He definitely wasn’t winning any humanitarian awards for his behavior but it was a lot harder to enact evil plots and schemes with a little kid at your side telling you to be sure to mind your manners so you can have a cookie after dinner.
It was still a surprise that he was sitting on Alex’s bed when they returned. “Oh, he’s not dead.”
He was joking. Sort of. The Doctor rolled his eyes, “Of course--”
“Daddy!” Alex’s face lit up and he ran into his father’s arms.
The Master looked the Doctor in the eyes, a different look than he’d seen in centuries. It was nice to see it again after so long. “I was going to tell Alex bedtime stories. Have any fond memories about Gallifrey.”
The Master scoffed. The Doctor expected it, the planet had screwed them both over but specifically him in the brutality of the Time Lords. In their ever present belief they were the highest powers in the universe. “You’re really gonna ask me that?”
The Doctor was preparing whatever story came first into his mind. Something kind, Alex was still at the very black and white thinking stage. Zagreus is strictly off limits as it was disturbingly dark. Plus he was still a bit traumatized from the time he’d manifested into his head just a few regenerations ago.
“There will come a soldier who carries a mighty sword,” the Master has taken matters into his own hands.
It was an old folk song. Probably a prophecy he noted. Possibly about him, that was nothing new, clearly he had a large effect on Gallifreyan past, present, and future. Which as one of the only positive renegades in the universe that made sense.
Alex nuzzled in closer to his father’s hand as he stroked his hair to put him to sleep. “There will come a poet whose weapon is his word.”
That did sound like him didn’t it. The powerful Time Lord Victorious who could turn armies away with a single word. Not that he hadn’t been powerful in the War but honestly those myths were nothing more than that, just myths. “Night night Doctor ‘n daddy.”
Then he passed out.
The Doctor continued humming the old song. They sang it at the festival of Fate. A year end celebration honoring the old gods. He trailed off as the song ended, no need to keep it in his head for the next decade. He’d been there and it was not enjoyable.
They sat together in a comfortable silence for a while just watching Alex sleep. Eventually though, the Doctor’s curiosity got the better of him, “Why’d you come in here in the first place?”
He didn’t answer for a moment, just staring at his son. “Somethings coming Thete. Something bad and I can feel it. I just—want to get in any of the time that I can.”
The Doctor put his hand over his, “I’m here to help. No matter what it is, Koschei. I’m here for both of you, no matter what. And don’t you dare try and push me out of whatever this is. Got it?”
“Okay whatever loser.”

E.M.Pathos - Chapter 1 - Anticipation (new WIP, unedited)
Jenny was nervous.
First the first time in a very very long time, she was actually nervous. Not apprehensive, not cautious, not anticipatiory, not fearful. Just straight up nervous. For her it was an unusual experience.
It wasn't the tests coming up. No, she'd always strangely enjoyed being tested, measuring herself, having documentation of her own internal competition with herself. No it wasn't the tests. Or was it? She was actually quite excited to be part of this new program, to have been selected for the second round. So what was it?
She looked around the small, sterile waiting room for the hundredth time. 'Waiting room? More like hastily converted scientist's broom cupboard is more like it,' she mused. Stark white plastic chairs with no padding made her shift in her seat again.
"They could have at least had some out of date 'zine's laying around," she muttered. "I mean what self respecting doctor doesn't have dozens of magazines that are like 5 years old just laying around?"
"Well for one thing, there's not even a coffee table to put em on Jenn-o. Which only makes the lack of coffee even more noticeable."
Trust Dax to complain about missing his morning fix. It didnt seem to matter how far from home they got, he always seemed to find a way to make coffee. Like that one time on Estoc Prime. Jenny shuddered at the memory. That one had been close. A little too close for any sort of comfort. She hadn't been able to look a cup of coffee in the face since then. Ok, sure, poisoning the commander of the ship that had hijacked them with espresso had been a stroke of genius from Dax, but it still brought back too many unpleasant thoughts; not something she needed today of all days.
'Breathe. Just breathe. Dont think about that right now.'
Dax winced. "Sorry Jen-o. I'm just a bit nervous and having to go off caffeine entirely's made me a little spacey."
"Don't worry about it Dax, I understand. We're both a little jittery right now. You have any idea what to expect this round? I mean, last time, they were just like following me around for months with a bunch of weird cameras and asking a bunch of questions. Idk man, just wondering how this whole 'in-depth examination' thing is going to play out."
"Yeah, don't worry about it too much ay. She'll be right. We always are."
Jenny exhaled deeply again. Her mind was working overtime due to the lack of anything to hold her attention at all. There weren't even any cracks or motes of dust to stare at mindlessly to pass the time.
"Stop chewing ya nails- you're gonna end up with hands like a Thraxian if ya don't cut that out."
"I'm nervous, Dax. Nervous. Me! Actually nervous. I dont even know why I'm here, much less how both of us got in, what they're going to be doing, whether I'm actually qualified, or any clue what any of the probably thousands of ways I could fuck this up somehow are."
"You worry too much. Over-sensitive, you are. Always have been. Then again, maybe that's why you made it to round two."
They fell silent again. This particular waiting room was definitely not conducive to conversation. Being alone in their own thoughts might have been worse though.
Dax started bouncing his leg rapidly. He was nervous too, but not from the unknown. He was more a combination of anxious and bored. Jenny placed a hand on his knee to still him again.
"Ugh, all that study and no one in IGSARC managed to figure out that bored humans are a dangerous thing to leave unsupervised."
"We're not dangerous Dax! Jeez how many times do I have to tell you to stop buying into the hype and stereotypes?"
"Oh so you think IGSARC got funding for this second round of research just because they were curious? Nah, somebody on the Council is worried. Or hoping to find an advantage. Something. IGSARC found something they weren't expecting to find, and stereotype or not, I'd wager a month's ration of beer that they're either scared of us, or wanting to exploit us."
"God Dax, you're so negative! Maybe you really do need coffee to survive!" Jenny laughed, the bright sound tinkling around the small room they were ensconced in, brightening the mood instantly.
"Haha, yeah, you're probably right Jen-o. Ahhhh I'm just tired waiting is all! You always know how to make me feel better though.
Jenny smiled at her best friend. They'd been through so many things together, from the first day at the Merchant Academy when she'd accidentally stepped on a Lorathian cadet's tail and nearly started an intergalactic incident when her rush to apologize ended up with her hands in what were for Lorathians, very inappropriate places. Even just thinking of that still made her blush a tiny bit, even if it did make her smile.
Dax had totally saved her bacon on that one, with his smooth talking, good looks and dazzling charm. The accent probably helped too. Not many actual Australians seemed to be out and about in the galaxy, and she had to admit, the combination of his dark brown skin, beach-blond curly hair and brilliant smile were the perfect combination to be disarmingly noticeable. He'd managed to get the Lorathian talking, and eventually the two sauntered off, Dax with his arm around the other, headed to the Canteen. They'd been fast friends ever since.
'That was such a long time ago now,' Jenny, lost in her own thoughts again sighed. 'Well, it seems like it was a long time ago anyway.'
"How long's it been Dax? Since we met, I mean. Seems like I've known you forever."
"What? You forget me that easily? I'm insulted!" Dax laughed easily. "Probably about as long as we've been sitting in this damn room."
"So what, 5 years?" Jenny chuckled.
"Sounds about right. Fuck we were so much younger then."
Jenny punched him. "Hey! Speak for yourself!"
"Hahaha gotta get the dig in when I can Jen-o!"
Just then, right as she was cocking back to punch him again, the near-invisible door to the room hissed open.
The IGSARC representative did not come in. Their face was obscured by the doorframe, but the clipboard they held was dwarfed by the massively long fingered blue hand that clutched it to their chest like a child's treasured toy.
"I apologize for my tardiness, it was unavoidable. Also, please forgive the sparseness of the accommodations at the moment, our study is only just getting started." The alien scientist had bent down to be able to see into the room better while speaking, and now Jenny and Dax were able to see them properly.
"Ah where are my manners! I apologize again, we are all just so excited about this newest phase! Let us introduce ourselves properly, so if you would be so kind as to step out here, as I am sure it would become even more uncomfortable in there were I to attempt entry."
"We should've just waited in the damn hallway," Dax muttered to Jenny as they stepped out into the large corridor that stretched along the top deck of the starship.
The view from the glass that looked out into the neighboring nebula from the floor to ceiling glass on one side was truly breathtaking. Or at least, it would have been, had Jenny not been short of breath already, due to the nervousness from earlier slamming back into her like and old earth freight train. The momentary reprieve from it, courtesy of Dax, evaporated as quickly as liquid nitrogen on Mercury. He was right though, the hallway was wide enough that they could’ve driven their ‘spacers to the meeting, parked in the hall and still had enough room left for a dinner party. It just made the cramped waiting room seem all the more ridiculously sized.
The scientist caught her attention again as they started speaking again.
Allow me to introduce myself- I am Doctor Itraxilitanthudinilatz of the IGSARC Advanced Research Division. I realize my name is a bit of a mouthful for most humans, so you may call me Doctor Traxi. Firstly, I want to welcome you to the second phase of a very exciting program! We here in ARD are extremely excited to be working with you for the next 18 to 24 months on this groundbreaking area of research. Since today is the first day of the program, we’ll be beginning with a brief tour of the area of the facility that will become your home, your quarters, and the areas of the ship that will be accessible to you. Unfortunately, due to the highly classified nature of our work here together, as well as the parameters of the research, in order to eliminate any external influencing factors, you will not be permitted access to the entire ship, however, we’ve made sure to include a large array of amenites within the research facility’s designated areas, so you should not feel too restricted.”
Of course, Dax raised his hand.
“Did ya at least make sure there’s a pub in there?”
“Ah. Sadly, at the moment, no, however, being aware of the necessity for many humans to participate in ritual toxification, there will come a stage in this project where that will be made available, but sadly, until we reach that stage, your dietary intake will be strictly monitored, which does include the elimination of any physiologically altering substances, at least for now. But more on that later! We will go over all these things and answer as many of your questions as possible during the orientation period tomorrow. For now, let’s begin the tour!”
As Dr. Thraxi started off down the insanely large corridor, Dax grabbed Jenny’s arm. “Great, first no coffee and now no beer!”
“Yeah I know, you’re torn up about it. OMG Dax, just suck it up for now, you should’ve known what you were signing on for,” Jenny hissed under her breath. “You’re just being a baby about it right now because you haven’t had any coffee for a week.”
“Right, I know, and now it looks like I’m not gonna for ages too!” Dax whispered back.
“Shush and pay attention!”
“...of course this corridor will be off limits due to it being the main concourse connecting the two main parts of the ship. Our section is coming up, which I hope you will find most adequate.” Dr. Thraxi had been droning on for the couple of minutes that it took them to make it about a third of the way down the observation concourse, when they turned to a side hallway, significantly smaller than the main walk, stopping in an alcove facing a large frosted glass door. Dr. Thraxi placed six of his long fingers on a blank section of the wall next to the door, at which point the door frame lit up a pale blue, and the glass slid open silently like some fey portal to another world.
A disembodied voice called out softly, “Welcome back Dr. Thraxi. I have detected that you have guests. Are they the new study subjects?”
“Yes thank you Janet, these are the newest participants in the second phase of our research. Could you please update their files?”
“Of course Doctor. Subject 1, please step forward.”
Doctor Thraxi gestured at Dax, who took two steps forward into the main room.
“Scanning. Linking data files. Subject 1: Dax Fellowes. Planet of origin: Terra Prime. Age: 35. Height: 172 centimeters. Weight: 95.2 kilos. Species: Human. Genetic Sub-group: Aboriginal Scottish Australian. Hair: Blond. Eyes: Brown. Circulatory system: Internal, Pressurized Atrial system. Condition: Healthy. Respiritory System: Dual internal lung. Primary absorbative content: Oxygen. Condition: Healthy. Registering bio-markers. Profile complete. Please state your name for voice-print identification.”
“Uh, Dax Fellowes.”
“Registering Ah Dax Fellowes.”
“Oh wait, hold up, that’s not right, my name’s just Dax Fellowes.”
“Adjusting. Voice print identification for Dax Fellowes saved. Thank you.”
“Stupid bloody machine,” Dax muttered to himself as Dr. Thraxi walked past him into the main area of the lab.
“Jenny, if you could also step forward now so that Janet can scan you as well please.”
She stepped forward into the room, and was instantly too caught up in looking around to pay any attention to Janet’s robotic voice as the scan proceeded. She was too interested in seeing all the other scientists milling about, some lounging and talking in the common area of the room at the far wall, where a window the size of her mother’s old van framed the expanse of deep space, a dark contrast to the low white couches that were currently occupied by several scientists- at least she assumed they were based on the white lab coats that matched what Thraxi was wearing. Off to the side several others were gathered around a couple small tables, chatting and eating. Various posters and artworks were scattered tastefully across the walls. One in particular caught her attention since it seemed to be a hologram representing the birth of a star that was constantly changing and moving in all three dimensions.
“Please state your name for voice print identification.”
The ethereal voice of Janet snapped Jenny’s attention back to the present.
“Jenny O’Rourke.”
“Voice print identification for Jenny O’Rourke saved. Thank you. You both may now access all areas of the lab designated Participant Level 1 security clearance.”
“Excellent! Now that you’re registered in the system, let’s get you acquainted with the areas of our facility that you’ll be using most!”
The rest of the hour long tour went by in a blur- both because listening to Dr. Thraxi was just so monotonous, despite their best effort to be engaging, but there’s only so peppy you can be about showing off chairs and toilets, but also because the reality of what she’d signed up for was starting to sink in, as the more and more they saw of the research facility, the more it became clear that she and Dax were the only visible humans in the entire place. Although the variety of species was astounding, even for a deep space vessel, and that one game of four player multi-dimensional chess looked fascinating, Jenny found herself simply letting the information wash over her.
“...and that brings us to the conclusion of our tour! I hope that the two of you will be comfortable during your stay with us. We all look forward to working with you, and I’ll be introducing you to the rest of the Phase 1 research team tomorrow at 10:00 hours in Conference 3. If you don’t remember where it is, that’s fine, just ask Janet for directions.”
Dr. Thraxi turned to leave Jenny and Dax standing in the middle of what could have passed as a comfortable modern hotel shared suite lounge, his clipboard fluttering slightly at the rapid movement.
“Oh hey, one more thing Doc!” Dax called out as Dr. Thraxi stepped through the doorway.
“Yes?”
“Dumb question, but what’s Janet? She a person, a computer, what? I was pretty sure computer, but the responses are pretty personalized.”
“Ah yes, one of our earlier successes actually- Janet, an acronym of “Genuine Artificial Neural Network” is an AI program designed to interface between all of our various systems. We worked quite hard on getting her responses to seem more natural, as well as being able to understand intent over data requisitions.”
“Bonza mate, thanks for the tour,” Dax yawned. “I think I’ll be hitting the sack soon then, been a long day.”
“I understand. Will see you at the meeting in the morning.” Dr. Thraxi stepped back and the door whisked shut.
“What was that about Dax? Like why do you even care what their stupid computer is called?” Jenny was a bit irritated. Bed definitely sounded like a really good option.
“I don’t give a royal shit what their computer program is called, it can go fuck itself and the rest of this program for all I care. I wanted to ask an innoccuous question to see something.”
“Whoa there boyo, why the hostility all of a sudden? I thought you were all pumped for this program, except for the lack of coffee.”
“Yeah well I was excited for it....until the tour.”
“Ok buddy you’re starting to scare me, what gives?”
“I’m not sure- I can’t put my finger on it yet, but there’s something...off about this place.”
“Damn. I wish you hadn’t said that Dax.”
“Why? Oh no! Oh did I just trigger you again without thinking? You ok?”
“No no, that’s not it, it wasn’t you. This whole place kinda started putting me on edge soon as we walked through those doors too. I kinda tuned the doctor out while they were showing us around, but that gave me more time to look around at everyone else here. You notice we’re the only humans in this facility?”
“Yeah. That we saw anyway.”
“Dax. Don’t make this more melodromatic than necessary. But yeah, no other humans. Ok that could be explained away with we’re the first ones in this section of the study. Fine, i’ll buy that.”
“But…”
“Yeah, there’s always a ‘but’. I hate ‘buts’.”
“Bullshit, you love a good butt.”
“Dax! For real! I’m being serious!”
“I know, I know, I can’t help it, you know me when there’s a chance for an inappropriate joke, I gotta jump on it ay.”
“Not the time man. Anyway. I couln’t tell what was setting me off either, but I just got more and more uneasy as we went through the tour.”
“Yeah me too Jen-o. That’s why I asked ol’ Blueberry Slenderman about the AI. I wanted to see if there was a difference between when he was on-script versus off it.”
“And?”
“Did ya notice the darker purpley markings on his hands and neck?”
“Yeah…”
“Well, they change color slightly- they get darker and lighter. I thought I was seeing things at first, but that last bit confirmed it.”
“So what, his skin changes colors a little. Loads of aliens have that.”
“Right, they do, but this one’s interesting, because the minute we walked through the facility doors, he started lying to us. Right up until I asked him about the AI. And even then, he lied about something in that explanation of what it is.”
“Well duh, of course he was lying- probably not our definition of it though; if his spots react to deception like our pupils do, it could’ve been a reaction to the fact that there’s a lot more going on here than he was covering in the tour, a lot of it’s classified, and a lot of it he’s saving for tomorrow! Doesn’t mean he’s like lying lying.”
“I hope you’re right Jen-o. I hope you’re right.” Dax sighed. She was probably right. She usually was; Jenny had good instincts. Probably one of the reasons she was here to begin with. Then again, so did he. Instincts that had saved his life on more than one occasion, so Dax had learned to trust his gut. And something was definitely not right about this place.
He just hoped it didn’t bite them in the ass.

This post is about all the stories I've written about Doctor Who, a sci-fi British show. The story is about a 900 years old Time Lord, an alien from the planet Gallifrey, named The Doctor traveling through all of Time and Space with his mostly humans companions. The Doctor doesn't die, he regenerates and when people need help, he never refuses. Especially when the Time War leaves him with a deep scar and a need for forgiveness and redemption. This post is about all the stories I've written about the show. Please note that they all concern the second part, or reboot starting with the Ninth Doctor and going to the Thirteenth Doctor.

forgive me, i thought admitting i don't know how to love was a 'skip this part and move forward one step' card
it wasn't, isn't
dont forgive me but forget me where i stand
imbalanced equations across the board
oh sandy skin glaze over in tears and accusations
oh tardy student learn these lessons before you find yourself stuck in a continuous running circle meant for guinea pigs
oh love lay your head beside mine and forgive yourself if you hold frustration towards your own wanting heart
we loved, we lost, we lose
gain, we gain knowledge in loss
an understanding of what divides wanting and working towards what is wanted
a better you is wanted so please a better you you will be
regardless of if we are there to applaud you or not
somewhere deep down i will smile to see you from afar cultivating the you who you know you can be
and from where you perch your tired feet know i am growing as well
these tears are profoundly falling

Dhawan!master x reader
Chapter 2: Nightmare In Silver
Summary: The cyberiad never forgives. Nor does it forget. When the master and you arrive at an abandoned theme park, the looming cyber threat stands determined to rise and take revenge for the fall of the cyberium. With a dormant cybermite ready to convert you at any moment, and the master stuck in the middle of a deadly chess match for both of your lives, you struggle to understand just who's in control of the timelord... And just how in danger you truly are.
Notes: a 200 follower special! As always, this fic is dedicated to the reigning queen @plethora-of-imagines. I hope you enjoy this one, I've certainly been sitting on it for a while! 👑 feedback is forever appreciated- I hope you all enjoy!
"OH Y/N?!"
You rolled your eyes and gave out a sigh. The Master required you once more- or at least, the cyberplanner that sat inside his brain did.
You took a large gulp of the cup of soup you held in your hands. You'd spent hours couped up in the confines of the castle, running purely on fear and adrenaline, so the last thing the pair of them could do was give you a moment to refuel and gather your thoughts. The man beside you, a fellow soldier named Porridge, gave you an inquisitive glance.
"Are you not going to see what he's after?"
You shook your head, gladly taking another gulp of your soup. Whatever it was would have to wait. You needed this moment of peace.
"OH Y/N, YOUR MASTER WANTS TO SEE YOU! DON'T KEEP ME WAITING!"
"For gods sake."
You handed your cup of soup to the man beside you with an apologetic grin, thankful for the moment of comfort the warm food had brought. The smaller man laughed, taking the cup from your grasp.
"Sorry, Porridge- I'd better go see what they want. I dont think either of them are willing to be patient."
Porridge raised a knowing eyebrow, causing you to shake your head and chuckle lightly. You'd been placed in charge of the punishment platoon stationed on the planet, your attention pulled in all matter of different directions as you attempted to withstand the incoming cyber threat. From what Porridge had seen of your timelord he knew it best for you to attend his side- he'd happily keep watch of the mingling members of the squad you'd been laboured with, while you dealt with his demands.
"I'll let you know if there's any change. Don't keep him waiting- and be careful up there."
You smiled and gave him a quick salute, a smirk playing on the corners of your lips.
"Don't worry, the Master won't hurt me."
You spun on your heels with confidence and headed towards the doorway within the castle wall, bracing yourself for whatever demanded you be present in the throne room upstairs. Porridge sighed, taking a hefty swig from his own cup of soup as he watched you disappear into the stairwell.
"It's not the Master i'm worried about."
The Master sent you a warm smile as you soon entered the throne room, your eyes instantly falling to the chess game before him. You scanned over the board, observing the games progress with hopeful curiosity.
The Master had lost another bishop, the Cyber Planner both of his knights, only a scattering of pawns left between them as their pieces edged closer and mingled on the board. The Master's eyes met yours, a small chuckle escaping his lips.
"Ah, there she is! I was starting to get worried you were avoiding me."
"This had better be good, I gave up my soup for this."
The master laughed once more, smiling fondly as you continued to inspect the game board.
"Dont worry pet, i'm winning if thats what you're concerned about." He said, causing you to raise your eyebrow with a hum.
"Just checking, thats all. You called, Master?"
The Master beckoned you closer with a wave of his hand, sincerity laced in his gaze. He held out his palms, offering them for you to take, but you didnt move, eyeing him suspiciously. He looked perfectly normal, despite the extensive Cyber framework positioned on his cheek, and was gazing at you with his familiar selective fondness that made you practically melt. Something, however, felt oddly wrong. You just couldnt put your finger on it. Your pause caused the Master to frown.
"Whats wrong? That upset about your soup?"
The Master tilted his head in confusion, brows knitting together across his forehead. You narrowed your eyes, trying to find any cracks within his facade. The Cyberplanner could be a great actor, but you knew the Master would always be a better one.
"How do I know you're you?"
The timelords face shifted in recognition- you were simply being apprehensive. Smart. He nodded his head, leaning forward as if to whisper. You unknowingly leant forwards, echoing his movements as he reached out for you once more. You almost recoiled, but the Masters position stayed firm.
"Trust me dear, the Cyberplanners hibernating between moves- this is technically my turn. C'mere pet, I wont bite. I want to see my human."
You hesitantly advanced towards him, your lightly trembling hands slowly slipping into his own. His thumbs brushed over your knuckles, the timelord raising your joint hands and lacing a kiss to the back of them. You smiled, a blush spreading over your face as he pulled you closer to the table, noses hovering only centimeters apart. His large brown eyes met your own, scanning over your expression as he continued to hold your hands. His hold felt normal, the tenderness in which he held you all too familiar. You couldn't help but allow yourself to indulge. The Master suddenly sighed, breaking the cumulative silence.
"I'm worried about you, pet. I'm stuck up here playing chess with a vengeful computer program in my brain, meanwhile my girl's out there leading a platoon against an army of Cybermen with a Cybermite inside her, ready to convert at any second."
Ah, right. The Cybermite. You were so invested in this sudden affection you'd forgotten all about the whole reason he was playing this game. Or at least, the rushed explanation of events the Master had spouted to you as he rushed towards the castle only a few hours earlier.
The Master had accepted the Cyberplanners bargain for you. The failure of the Cyberium had caused shockwaves through all Cyber units in the cosmos: and it just so happened the planet you'd landed on was utterly riddled with vengeful Cyber technology- more specifically, a demented piece of technology only known as the Cyberplanner.
You'd been infected during an ambush that left three of the platoon below you both dead, and the Masters infuriated investigation had lead to him coming face to face with the control system for the planets dormant Cybermen. He too had been infected, this time by the planner itself, and they now fought for control of his brain. At least, that's what he'd hurriedly told you as you tied him to his very chair.
The stakes were certainly high: if the Master won, the Cyberplanner left his brain and the Cybermite inside you vacated your system. If the Cyberplanner won, he'd get the Masters mind and all his knowledge on the timelords, and you'd soon find yourself inhabiting a shiny new suit of cyber casing for all eternity.
Safe to say, you hoped your countless chess matches in the TARDIS library had prepared him well enough for this moment.
A gentle smile spread across your lips, the tension in your shoulders subsiding at the Masters words. Of course he was unknowingly morbid, typical timelord behaviour, but you knew him well enough to know he was trying to be tender. Perhaps trying that little bit too hard.
"I want that thing out of you and us off this planet. I care about you too much to see you hurt, dear."
You hoped the quickening of your heartrate wasn't as obvious to him as it was to you. Judging by his smile, he'd definitely noticed. Of course he cared, he'd shown you more than enough that you meant everything to him. The butterflies in your stomach still remained at every moment, no matter what he did.
He placed a kiss to your forehead, lips gentle against your skin, barely a peck but enough to make you shiver. You relented the distance between your faces, your foreheads connecting, noses brushing against eachother. Your eyes fluttered shut, his lips ghosting over your own as you nuzzled your nose against his, the timelord humming in appreciation.
"You're weaponless down there, all vulnerable and open" he sighed, placing a peck to the side of your mouth. "I'm not there to keep you safe"
You groaned lightly, shaking your head as you bit your lip. The Master almost purred at the sight, your lips glossy and red.
"No... We're not weaponless." you admitted, the Master adjusting your hands so your fingers interlocked on the table. His hot breath sent shivers down your spine as he laughed incredulously, your hair standing on end.
"Oh yeah? Whats my little human got to beat the big bad Cybermen with, hmm?"
Your eyes fluttered open, confusion swirling in the pit of your stomach. Something about that set your teeth on edge, the flurry of pleasure coursing through you replaced with a sudden drought of suspicion. This sudden outburst of affection hadn't truly felt right from the start, but now the cracks were finally starting to show.
He was teasing you, flirting- business as usual.
But the way your stomach dropped indicated something was very, very wrong.
"One big charge gun...five hand pulser units..." You started, nipping the end of his nose. The beeping pulse of the Cyber system on his face suddenly seemed far more obvious than before. The Master pouted, letting his face slip into a childish frown, beard tickling at your skin.
"Is that all? Pity, I thought you were about to excite me, dear."
You fought against your instinctive wince, smiling playfully as you pecked his bare cheek with a teasing hum. You advanced even closer, careful to not disrupt the chessgame below your body. The Masters eyes never left yours, gaze almost robotically focused on your expression.
"And... A shiny black planet smashing bomb with a trigger unit."
The Masters gaze shot wide, excitement dancing in his pupils as he let out a tiny gasp. You giggled, the timelord beginning to practically vibrate with glee. That had most definitely gotten his attention.
"Now THATS exciting. Dont you agree, pet? Should've lead with that."
"Well..." You teased, smirking devilishly and purposely biting your lip. "You of all people should know- theres nothing more exciting than a reveal."
The Master paused, as if processing exactly what you'd just said. Processing for just that bit too long. His wide eyes softened into a hungry gaze, smirk quirking at the side of his mouth as he watched you intently. You'd seemingly caught him off guard, his delayed reaction adding to your concern.
"Well then, why don't you indulge me?" He asked, voice dripping with unspoken desperation and eyes furiously scanning over your body for any sign of the trigger unit.
"Where is it, dear?"
You smiled shyly, but internally you were starting to panic. If your intuition was correct, letting the Master, or whoever was truly driving him right now, get their hands on the trigger unit would be a very bad idea. You feigned a blush, moving to shy your face away and gesture to your back pocket. The Master quickly caught on and hummed out a laugh, charming and sweet, squeezing your connected hands in excitement.
"Oh good girl, you brought it with you. Best leave it with me, pet- dont want any old Cyberman getting their hands on it do we?"
And there it was. Just as you'd suspected.
You nodded in agreement, slowly removing your hand from the masters grip and reaching for your back pocket. The Masters hand moved to cup your chin, thumb brushing over your bottom lip, your tongue teasing the tip of his thumb, causing him to shiver.
"Thats my girl, such a good girl for me."
The Master's voice was barely a whisper, eyes alit with something inherently maniacal. You let out a trembling breath, a quiet moan erupting from your throat. The Master's low chuckle didnt help one bit, your lashes fluttering as you held your hand behind your back. You suddenly paused, taking a breath. What you were about to do was either going to save your neck or result in a very pissed off timelord- but you had to take the risk.
"Theres one teeny, tiny problem though." You murmured, flattening out your hand behind your back and pulling your grip from the masters other hand. The Master tilted his head, nose brushing against yours as he lifted your chin with two fingers.
"And what problem is that, pet?" He offered, voice soothing and eyes tinged with a certain level of confusion. Your eyes flickered between the cyber hardware and those familiar brown eyes.
"My problem?"
You took a final breath, pulling away from the masters face and straightening up. It was now or never.
"I'M NOT YOUR GIRL!"
You raised your hand and swung, palm fiercley colliding against the masters bare cheek with an all mighty crack. His head suddenly whipped to the side, fringe flopping wildly as the cyber hardware began to violently flash, his whole body jolting with a richochetting mechanical 'snap.'
The timelords jaw dropped in shock, a gutteral yell of pain soon errupting from his throat as he turned to face you with a viscious glare, hand flying to his reddening cheek. He lowly snarled as you raised your hand to strike him again, the Master's hand positioned to stop the incoming hit with sudden wide eyed recognition.
"OW, FUCK! Love, love it's me!"
Love. Thats right, you were love. It was always his favourite pet name for you. The Cyberplanner hadn't called you that once. Maybe that's why you knew wasn't him. He was a romantic bastard at hearts.
You kept your hand poised to strike, a frown tugging on the corners of your mouth as the Master rubbed his reddening cheek. You almost felt proud at how hard you were able to strike him. Almost. You leant close to his face and raised your eyebrow, the masters expression copying your own, as if you were looking into a confused funhouse mirror. You narrowed your eyes, the master soon realising and raising a cautionary finger.
"Dont you DARE get any more ideas about slapping me again!"
Yeah. This was definitely the Master. You couldnt help but hold back your grin.
"How did you know it was him?"
You slowly pulled the trigger unit from your back pocked, shaking it between two fingers before clutching it back into your palm. The Masters eyes followed intently, gaze shifting from the device to your face as you leant against the table.
"This was all he was after. I could tell something was wrong when he seemed far too interested in getting his hands on it."
"Ah, I see."
"Plus-" you started, unable to hide your blush as your lips quirked into a bashful smile.
"He didn't call me love. And thats something you never fail to do."
The Master's grin was tender, lips curving amorously, all the while propping his head upon his fist and digging his elbow into the table. He batted his long eyelashes playfully, causing butterflies to return to swarm in your stomach.
"I always knew you were an absolute glutton for my terms of endearment, love- you have an undeniable sweet tooth for affection. And, a surprisingly strong smack. Consider that information filed away for later."
You giggled lightly, shaking your head. Of course he'd consistently flirt in a time of crisis- that was one thing about him the Cyberplanner got right. You sighed and began to push yourself off the table, leaning over to steal a peck from his lips, a kiss which the Master eagerly returned with no protest. It almost hurt you to pull away, your brain telling to you head back in for more- but you had work to do.
"If you're done trying to woo me again, lover boy, you've got a game to win. Now hurry up and finish it so we can get off this plane-"
Snap. The Masters arm suddenly jolted, limb twitching as if struck by a sudden bolt of lightning. The arm ripped itself from under his chin with a harsh mechanical clang, his hand lurching to grasp tight purchase on your wrist. Sharp fingernails dug tightly into the skin of your wrist, your fist freezing and seizing up around the cylindrical devise in your hand. Your wide eyes met the masters own confusion, his expression tinged with struggle as you gasped in pain.
"Master that hurts, let go!"
The Master clenched his teeth together, huffing out a breath as he fought to pull his grasp from your hand. His fingers dug in tighter, nails almost drawing blood as you felt your wrist begin to buckle under his strength.
"I can't, he's got control of the other bloody arm!-"
You let out a painful whimper, your other hand flying to help prise off his fingers. He soon followed suit, letting out a growl as he grasped ahold of his other wrist. It became a vicious tug of war- his grip was an utter vice on your wrist, the skin reddening under his hold as his left arm began to squeeze the trigger unit from your fist, your pain exhumed with pitiful cries.
"NO! NO, NO NO!"
The Masters yell was visceral as the Cyberplanner prised the trigger unit from your fingers, winning the fight and releasing your wrist with a rushed, hasty flourish. You stumbled back with a cry, clutching your bruising wrist to your chest as the Master slammed the trigger unit hard and fast against the tabletop. You watched him in terrified awe- the trigger unit crumbling to dust under his strength, disintegrating into nothingness atop the checkerboard table.
"Master?..."
You both sat in stunned silence, the masters breath shallow as his eyes furiously darted from your wrist to the chessboard, mouth hung open in shock. You dared to step forward, slightly cowering from the timelord sat before you.
"Its my move-"
"Master- What do you mean?"
"He got exactly what he wants-"
"He wants to destroy the trigger?"
The Masters gaze slowly rose to meet your startled eyes, wide brows suddenly submerged within a thick layer of malice. You stepped back once more, stomach churning as a twisted smile ripped itself across the masters face. This was the smile reserved for those who the Master knew wouldn't live to tell the tale of your encounter- The headlights that trapped meek little deer's like you in its blinding beam: But this wasn't the Master. Not anymore.
"No, love-" the Master spat with a grin, making you involuntarily flinch. "I want to destroy you."
The gulp that cowered within your throat caused the Master, more accurately the Cyberplanner, to laugh darkly, sneering face leering at you imposingly across the table. You felt as if the breath has been snatched from your lungs, panic soon poisoning your veins like a vicious chill. The hairs on the back of your neck stood on end as the Masters lips curled into a smirk.
"You know, Y/N, Inhabiting the Master's brain has taught me so much- Its been an absolute education. Now I see why the Cyberium chose him. He's potent, passionate- he has potential. But, like your sniveling human kind, theres weakness. There always is."
You scrunched your nose into a snarl, wary of edging any closer to the Cyberplanner.
"The master isn't weak." You snapped, but the Cyberplanner inside him merely laughed.
"How sweet- but its all in vain, pet. Right now, your precious Master's brain is the hivemind of the new Cyber revolution. Call it a second chance at doing what he promised to do the first time, but failed at... miserably."
The Master suddenly gestured to the window, shaking fingers pointing to the sprawling hills of the abandoned amusement park you took refuge in. You felt your insides tumble over each other as they tied themselves into agonising knots. He seemed to sense your fear, shushing you with false tenderness.
"Don't be scared, can't you hear them? Can't you hear them waking, the new race of the Cyberiad? Your soon to be brothers and sisters? They're coming for you, little human. We're already inside you. The Master can't save you now."
You took a trembling step back away from the table. The Master noticed in an instant, body leaning forward to follow your escape with looming intimidation.
"The revolution is coming, my dear, and if you're not already in a grave- you'll be converted. But don't fret, little human: Your Master will get to watch you perish, as he stands above the bright new dawn of the Cybermen. It will be my honour."
The look in your eyes as you stood face to face with the Cyberplanner could rival a burning sun. But on the inside, your fear was chilling you to the bone. The Master slowly began to rise from his chair, fighting against his rope, your feet instinctively shuffling back against the aging marble floor as you began to back away towards the exit. His laughter formed to rumble in his chest, soon expelling out of his throat into a mutated, twisted snarl. You had no time now to indulge further in the Cyberplanners intimidation: you had to get back downstairs. You had to warn the platoon that a war was on the horizon.
"That's it, little human! Run! Run while you can!"
His fury soon fell on deaf ears, form deviously hunched atop of the chessboard as you disappeared through the arching stone. He watched you leave with a devilish enjoyment, his finger hovering over the central piece on the board- his absolute prize of the game: the Masters queen. The Cyberplanner couldnt hold back his prideful smile, his twisted gaze fixating on the pure white chess piece, his didgit circling the crown as the metallic hardware adorning the Masters face flashed with excitement.
"The sun is rising on a brand new dawn, time lord- your queen will soon be mine... and i'm not just alking about our little chess match, either."
The Master's finger left the chess piece, body sliding to sink back against the plush throne he was bound and tied upon. The same smile still graced his lips as he tapped his fingers against the arm of the chair- a haunting four beat drum tapped against the fading gold.
Internally, the Master begrudgingly knew time was running short. He needed to win this game- to save his own mind from destruction at the hand of the Cybermen, but protect the only thing he would ever put himself into this position for- you.
With a small, sudden click, the Cyberplanner began to relenquish control of the Masters body from his grasp- the Masters conscious slowly spilling out of submission and back into the drivers seat of his form, the Cyberplanners metallic laughter still echoing in his mind.
"We can't play this game forever, time lord, your little human said it herself. The cyberiad wants its victory that you promised, and it will most certainly collect.
It's time to finally finish what you started, Master:
Its time for the endgame."
